About Dr. Caite
I have been passionate about finding wise and non-toxic solutions to health issues for over 15 years, and am so grateful to be living my dream here in Boulder. My other interests include traveling to new countries, hiking to catch sunrise, skiing on bluebird days, and Vedic meditation and philosophy.
My Philosophy

As your Boulder functional medicine provider,
There’s no fluff. I am about transparency and practical evidence-based solutions that take into account all of the root cause factors.
I will see you and the habits and patterns keeping you unwell. That’s my superpower. It can be uncomfortable, and it can be incredibly validating and liberating. I am not just seeing the patterns that need to change, I am seeing your fullest potential and most whole, healed self.
I am here to support you in getting out of your own way. I help you to create the conditions in which you can heal, and empower you to create a life inside of which you can stay well.
Wellness is not simply the absence of disease–it is building resilience in your body, mind, and spirit so you bounce back stronger than before you got knocked down. Wellness means you are free from chronic symptoms, and that you understand pain and illness are unavoidable aspects of being human.
Wellness means your baseline is energized, clear, and content. You can withstand the physical, emotional, and chemical stresses of everyday life without symptoms resurfacing every time you get a bad night of sleep or eat out.
My Healthcare Philosophy
- I believe an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
- I believe you should leave our sessions feeling better than when we started.
- I believe in you knowing your body better than anyone else. I want you to feel empowered to take care of your own health, understand the process of healing and all the available paths to wellness.
- I believe in medicine that looks at you as a whole person and not a collection of separate symptoms. Everything is connected.
- I believe your sense of fulfillment, and ability to feel relaxed and safe in your body are vitally important and inseparable from your physical health. Mental and emotional health are intricately linked with physical symptoms.
- I believe in medicine that addresses root causes and not only symptoms. By treating the root cause, you will achieve lasting results and not be dependent on someone else for your health.
- I believe in pharmaceutical-free health when possible! While some prescription medications are life-saving and necessary, many only treat symptoms and carry risks and side effects that can be avoided with a holistic approach.
- I believe in medicine that inhabits the intersection of science and spirituality.
- I believe in evidence-based approaches. As your Boulder functional medicine clinician, I want to offer you solutions that are safe, side-effect free, and shown to work.
- I believe we have immense power to self-heal, and that the current healthcare system often doesn’t support taking an active role in our own care. I encourage questions and critical thinking.

My Story
Why TCM and functional medicine?
I chose Chinese Medicine and functional medicine because I hit a wall with conventional care.
When I was navigating my own chronic health issues, I couldn’t find doctors I trusted who had anything to offer beyond medications or invasive procedures followed by more medications. Many wouldn’t even run comprehensive blood work. After feeling repeatedly let down by the Western medical system, I realized I was going to have to figure it out myself, so I did.
After earning my Master’s in Chinese Medicine, I spent the next decade in continuous study, diving deep into nervous system healing, inflammation, detox pathways, and the root drivers of autoimmune conditions. I completed my functional medicine training through Functional Medicine University in 2019, and that ability to order and interpret comprehensive labs, paired with a deeper understanding of the nervous system, changed everything. I was able to put my autoimmune conditions into remission, get off all pharmaceuticals except thyroid medication, and feel truly good again.
Acupuncture and Chinese medicine were a huge foundation for my healing, and functional medicine allowed me to address deeper layers like latent pathogens, mold exposure, and other hidden sources of chronic inflammation. I’m grateful to now pay forward what I’ve learned through my own journey, and through the past 12 years of working with patients with complex, “mysterious” symptoms, including parasites, SIBO, candida, celiac disease, PCOS, and more, especially when conventional medicine can’t seem to connect the dots.
I know how scary and frustrating it can be to navigate a broken medical system when you don’t fit the box of what Western Medicine does well: acute and emergency care. I know how disheartening it can feel when doctors shrug their shoulders, tell you it’s just stress, or rotate you through a bunch of medications that don’t help, or come with side effects or risks you’re not willing to tolerate. I want you to feel empowered to improve your symptoms by addressing their cause, not just masking symptoms. There are other options, and I’m here to offer them.
